Double or Nothing

It was a friendly wager without wages,
That's what he thought anyway.

He placed before me a proposition that
It is impossible for me to know what I know.
Epistemology was on the table with high stakes.

Holding my presuppositional cards close to my chest,
We discoursed through philosophical thinkers
Thinking that there was some kind of answer
An answer that just can't be had, he said.

I asked him if he knew for sure that it can't be had.
He looked a bit perplex, as he...
Expressed certainty that certainty is unavailable.

It were as if I laid down a royal flush and all he had,
He had noting but a pair of deuces!

The moment happened when I stated to him that
The Creator who knows all things about creation
Proposes in Scripture that He reveals to His own.
That God speaks to us covenantally in His Word.

He went all in, and then realized that his answer
Dogmatically proposing that there is no true dogma,
Is simple and foolish, void of episteme.

Congenially, I began postulating,
"You admit you have nothing.
God declares He has everything.
Let's start over again with God's Word,
And let's go in together, Double or Nothing."

I then called upon him to confess faith in Christ.
He then said, "Ok, I love Jesus."
Now he needs to be discipled to wager truth.

"The wages of sin is death, but
The gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 6:23
